Split sole ballet shoes are required for this class.

This is not only very frustrating to your child when trying to duplicate sounds but very dangerous as well.

Please ask for assistance when purchasing shoes, as they do not run true to shoe size.
Pointe~ Consists of ballet technique done on pointe shoes. Students must be a minimum of 12 years old with at least 3 years of ballet experience and be tested by the instructor or director to make sure ankle strength is sufficient. Contemporary~ This combines lyrical & modern techniques. For this reason, a ballet class must be taken in conjunction with this class so the students have a background of basic technique while learning jumps, partnering & other modern dance concepts. Students must be in dance attire. Leotards, dance shorts and pants are acceptable. Footless tights should be worn so knees are always covered. Footundeez or dance paws are to be worn on feet.

It is very similar to gymnastics in that it is a very physical genre of dance using much flexibility. Students must be in dance attire: sweat pants, t-shirts, active wear, etc.
